Park Seo-yeon is a young South Korean female living in Seoul and makes money through a broadcast eating show (mok-bang). A broadcast eating show is exactly what it sounds like: you stream yourself live while eating and it is broadcast to other people on the internet. There is an entire niche market of mok-bang netizens and mok-bang stars who earn money through advertising and donations. Park can finishes off a table of food every night and makes almost 6 figures a year doing it. In some ways, this job is also a lifestyle; during the day, she works off all the food that she ate, and at night, she eats more food. Park originally worked in consulting but quit her job after she became popular through mok-bang.
As of 2014, Park Seo-yeon has been live streaming her eating shows for three years and has given no indication that she will stop any time soon.
Why I like her: Um, what is not to like about a girl who gets to eat delicious food every night and get paid to do it? I'm not seeing the problem. If I could just earn enough money to break even by eating delicious food every night, I would do that. She found a way to make money by being herself. She has fun doing it. End of story.
